About Lookslate
Lookslate is a website with a short makeup quiz and an AI makeup preview. It shows one of six makeup looks on your own photo or on an AI-generated sample model, and gives color tips for your eye color, hair color and skin tone with a step-by-step guide for the look. It also publishes free makeup guides and tutorials.

How the guides are made
The guides and look tutorials are written with the help of AI writing tools. Facts about the product come from the product itself: each look page quotes the exact instruction the preview uses, and the color guides use the same shade table as the color tips in your result. The guides give general styling information, not medical or professional advice. They do not recommend specific brands or products.
How the images are made
- Sample models: every face on this site is an AI-generated fictional person, not a real person. The faces without makeup were made with the Agnes image model.
- Look examples: made from those faces by a different AI image model, using the exact look instruction the preview uses. They are labeled Before and After and as AI-generated.
- Decade examples: made by that same model with the same editing wording plus a description of the decade look. The preview cannot apply decade looks to your photo.
- Your preview: a look on your own photo is made by our AI image service when you ask for it, so it can differ from the examples. Generated images can contain errors.
- Quiz drawings: the illustrations in the quiz are our own drawings.
Where color tips come from
Your color tips come from the eye color, hair color and skin tone you choose in the quiz, matched against our shade table. Your photo is not analysed for them.
